Laverda’s Rice Combines: a special mission available in various models available in various versions
Specific components and solutions make Laverda Rice combines the winning choice for harvesting rice.
Breganze, January 2013. Rice is a very important element for human nutrition, and there is a long tradition of rice cultivation in Italy. That's why Laverda, always very attentive to the needs of the Italian market, as well as those of foreign markets, has given over the years, and continues to this day, special attention to rice combines, offering dedicated solutions to the peculiarities of paddy soil and high productivity. In some countries, in fact, the climate and conditions allow more than two crops a year.
As with all crops, for rice, even feeding is essential for the later stages of processing of the product, and the Free Flow cutting header with wear proof auger, equipped with GSAX, the automatic system that follows the ground and achieves intelligent cutting, together with the PFR, feeder with retractable fingers, able to even out the most intertwined rice crop, feed the threshing components in a perfect manner.
For working on rice a specific drum has been designed with teeth arranged over 12 bars. The drum has great inertial mass that ensures stability of the system for the delicate treatment of the rice. Thanks to their particular convex profile, the teeth mounted on the bars of the drum intersect perfectly with those of the concave, also specific for rice, allowing a soft treatment of the product. The rice concave, an exclusive Laverda design, is also toothed, and its large discharge surfaces are ideal for processing particularly damp green crops. Rice is very abrasive and for this reason it’s necessary to use materials and components highly resistant to wear, in particular for the parts that come into direct contact with the product. That’s why the Multi Crop Separator Plus has a specific shape and comes with Hardox wear proof components, as do the feeding augers, the augers for the grain transport and the tailing auger with the relevant elevators. The auger thickness is increased at the end of the spirals and also the base of the grain tank is made of Hardox wear proof material. Such specific solutions ensure that the components are longer lasting and offer maximum separation of the grains from the straw, as well as an excellent and delicate treatment of the caryopses.
Laverda’s Rice Combines are equipped with steel tracks, self-lubricating rollers and large pressure blocks to achieve an optimal floating action and make the combine easy to manoeuvre on rice fields with a minimum soil compacting, or with a rubber profile for easy road travel.
For rice, Laverda offers: M 410 Rice and M 400 Rice of the brand new M 400 Series and for the M 300 Series, the M 310 MCS Rice and M 300 MCS Rice.
